Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

Jake Hoyle is a member of the US men’s epee national team and Olympic hopeful. He lives and trains in New York City.

Hoyle began fencing in 6th grade at Strath Haven Middle School in his hometown of Wallingford, PA. In 2012, he walked on to the Columbia University fencing team. There, he went on to become a two-time individual NCAA Champion. He also led his team to back-to-back NCAA national titles as the captain. Hoyle graduated in 2016 with Bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Business Management.

After graduating, Hoyle began competing internationally for Team USA. He has served on two US World Championships teams and has been ranked as high as 7th in the world. Internationally, Hoyle won two bronze medals in 2019  — marking the first such accomplishment for a US men’s epee fencer since Seth Kelsey in 2010. He also reached the podium twice with Team USA, taking team gold at the 2018 Pan American Championships and silver in 2019. Domestically, he has captured both individual (2019) and team (2018 & 2019) national titles. Hoyle is now training for a spot on the Tokyo Olympic team.
